A LITERATURE REVIEW : THE SIGNIFICANCE OF YOUTUBE IN THETEACHING SPEAKING SKILLS

This study discusses about the use of technology especially in the process of teaching learning English. The researchers combined the balance between teaching goals and learning outcomes from the previous studies about what has been learned. One of the familiar modern learning in this era is YouTube. YouTube as the ideal education learning media as well as the tools to improve the teachers’ teaching and students’ interest in learning with various ways. This study contains literature review of journal of articles and a conference proceeding to input knowledge of benefits and constraints of using YouTube-based videos in the classroom. The method used in this research was SLR (Systematic Literature Review) in which the researchers collected articles related to YouTube applications with a publication period of 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023, strategies in teaching learning of speaking skill as supporting data. Based on this research the results are; 1) there is significant use of YouTube in teaching speaking skill for students especially for their development to encourage their productive conversations, 2) there is evidence that YouTube app verify as the positive tools feedback in teaching speaking skills for students and the teacher, 3) There is significant influence on the use of YouTube that can help students learn vocabulary and become more motivated to study English.
