Abstract

The advent of technological advancements has streamlined the development of English language learning, making it more efficient. This study explored the use of the Altissia platform to enhance English reading comprehension among high school students. Utilizing a qualitative research approach, the study focuses on students from SMA Negeri 2 Binjai who actively used Altissia for learning English. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews, participant observation and Assessment result.to thoroughly understand the students' experiences and perspectives. The results reveal that the Altissia platform substantially improves students' reading comprehension skills. Students reported expanded vocabulary, better understanding of complex texts, and increased confidence in reading English. Key features of the platform, such as its interactive and adaptive elements, were noted as significant contributors to student engagement and motivation. Nevertheless, challenges were identified, including technical difficulties and disparities in students' technological proficiency and access to devices. Feedback from both teachers and students highlighted the platform's usability and effectiveness. Teachers observed that Altissia offers a flexible, resource-rich environment that enhances traditional teaching methods. Students valued the engaging content and personalized learning paths provided by the platform. The study concludes that while Altissia shows great promise in improving English reading comprehension, adequate support in terms of technology access and training is crucial. It recommends integrating Altissia into the curriculum to maximize its benefits and enrich the overall learning experience. These findings add to the growing body of research on technology in language learning and provide practical insights for educators and policymakers.
