Abstract

Englishpreneurship, henceforth called Engpre, is an innovative program in addition to the Literature stream at the Faculty of Language and Arts Soegijapranata Catholic University . Engpre was set up with the focus on the teaching of Business English and principles as well as entrepreneurship skills to the students. It is expected that graduates of this program will be able to apply their English as well as business and entrepreneurship skills later in their future jobs and careers. After several years of implementation, a thorough needs analysis as well as evaluation were needed in order to improve the existing curriculum particularly after finding out whether or not it was relevant to the students needs. Considering the aforementioned facts, this study was conducted with two main goals to achieve. They are, firstly, to reveal the students’ perception on the relevance of the present curriculum with their needs. Secondly, to elicit suggestions from them on subjects and activities which are worth supplementing to the curriculum. The participants of this study were 52 students of the Englishpreneurship program from Batches 2019 to 2023. They served as respondents of the questionnaire and 6 of them became interviewees in the interview session. The data obtained were then analysed using SPSS 25 while some other were calculated on a percentage basis. The overall results indicate the students’ favourable perception on the existing curriculum. Furthermore, some valuable suggestions were also given for the betterment of the program in the future.
