Abstract

Environmental issues crucially occur around the world. ELT has responsibility to take part in preventing environment from more dangerous environmental damages. Consequently, ELT has valuable contribution to build up learners’ eco green awareness through teaching and learning process. Eco ELT is a current approach which concern on developing materials on environmental themes. This research aims to promote and describe the implementation of Eco ELT based Textbook for learning English to build up and promote Eco Green awareness for young learners in English class. This research employed qualitative research with descriptive method. The participant of this research was English teachers and students in Elementary School in Bojonegoro. To gain the data, observation sheet and interview are employed as instrument. The finding of this research reveals that Eco ELT based textbook is applicable to enhance and promote eco green awareness in English class for young learners. It provides English materials, exercise and project which invite and persuade learners to take green action around their environment. In conclusion, Eco ELT promotes new innovation to build up learners’ eco green awareness character and encourage their English skills.
