DEVELOPING A BILINGUAL WEBSITE LINKED TO SOCIAL MEDIA FOR HAMPARAN RINTIK BATIK SHIBORI MALANG

Abstract

In today’s digital era, websites play an important role in promoting businesses and reaching a wider market, especially for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). One of the SMEs in Malang that requires a structured online presence is Hamparan Rintik, a local creative business that specializes in fabric illustration using the shibori batik technique. Despite its activity on social media, the business does not have a proper website to present detailed product information and expand its market reach, since it already has international customers. Without a well-organized website, businesses may find it difficult to market their products effectively and appear less professionally managed in the eyes of customers. This research aimed to develop a bilingual website as a promotional media for Hamparan Rintik Batik Shibori Malang. This research used a Design and Development Research approach by Richey and Klein and followed the ADDIE development model by Branch, which consists of five systematic stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The data of this research were collected through interviews and questionnaires. The result of this research was a bilingual website that provides important information such as company profile, product catalogs, workshop information, and articles. The developed website was validated by an IT expert and a language expert to ensure that it met the technical and linguistic standards required for an effective and professional bilingual platform. A notable feature is an admin panel, which allows easy management of bilingual content so that both Indonesian and English versions can be inputted directly by the administrators. This website is expected to increase Hamparan Rintik’s visibility and expand its market reach, both locally and internationally.
