Abstract

The rapid integration of digital media into higher education has transformed how language is taught and learned, especially within English Medium Instruction (EMI) environments. In such contexts, grammar often becomes a challenging yet essential component for students to communicate effectively and achieve academic success. Responding to this pedagogical need, this research designed and implemented interactive grammar learning material using the H5P (HTML5 Package) platform through Lumi. Guided by the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model, the project aimed to develop students’ engagement and grammatical understanding while promoting self-directed learning. A Design and Development Research (DDR) framework, combined with mixed methods, was employed to guide the creation, validation, and evaluation of the digital media. The expert evaluation by professionals in the areas of information technology and language education showed a high level of usability and pedagogical effectiveness (84.5 % and 87.8 %), leading to a slight revision for accessibility. While student field testing showed strong positive responses, with a satisfaction rate of 85.6% reflecting a high motivation, improved grammar understanding, and appreciation for self-independent learning and accessibility via mobile devices. These findings indicate that H5P integration effectively promotes self-independent and interactive language learning in higher education.
