This study aimed to design an interactive digital vocabulary book using H5P and Lumi for English Medium Instruction (EMI) at one state vocational higher education institution in Indonesia. The research was motivated by challenges in vocabulary mastery faced by students preparing for EMI programs. Employing the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) within a Design and Development Research (DDR) approach, the study used mixed methods including surveys, focus group discussions (FGDs), interviews, and expert validations. A Lumi-based interactive book was developed containing CEFR-aligned vocabulary (B1–C1 levels), multimedia elements, and interactive tasks (drag-and-drop, quizzes, audio, and video). Results indicated that students demonstrated improved vocabulary mastery, high engagement, and positive attitudes toward independent digital learning. Expert validation (language and IT) confirmed the product’s pedagogical and technical quality. User feedback also showed strong usability and motivation for independent study. The study concludes that the interactive vocabulary media is an effective tool for vocabulary enhancement, highly applicable to international preparatory programs.
