DESIGNING A BILINGUAL E-CATALOGUE FOR KRAFTIVIBES.MLG LINKED TO INSTAGRAM

Abstract

Kraftivibes.mlg is an SME engaged in the creative field that uses Instagram as their business platform. Established in 2024, they sell various types of hand-crafted flower bouquets, starting from flowers made from satin fabric, decorative feathers, and their newest product; flower bouquets made from paper waste. This business is located in Wagir, Malang Regency. Kraftivibes.mlg owner targeting that the business could reach out to a wider customer and they wanted to begin the branch in Bali, Indonesia. The main purpose of this research is to support Kraftivibes.mlg by developing a bilingual e-catalogue.

This research applied the Design and Development Research (DDR). The researcher chooses this method in developing a bilingual e-catalogue for Kraftivibes.mlg. This method is an effective and efficient method for developing products that serve as a theoretical reference in making bilingual e-catalogue steps. The researcher applied all stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) models from Richey and Klein (2007).

The result of the field testing of the bilingual e-catalogue received positive responses. This shows that the use of language, content, and design in the e-catalogue is considered appropriate and on target. Some aspects that received high scores include clarity of information, delivery of understandable product descriptions, and visually appealing design. This positive feedback is an indication that the e-catalogue can fulfil both informative and aesthetic functions. Thus, the e-catalogue is considered effective in supporting the professional promotion of Kraftivibes.mlg and is ready for use.

    Isnaini Nur Safitri, S.Pd., M.Pd is the lecturer in English for Tourism Industry Study Program, State Polytechnic of Malang. She mainly teaches ESP Subjects and English skills such as Tourist Guiding, English for Hotel Industry, English for MICE, Speaking for Daily Communication, and Speaking for Workplace Situation. She is interested in doing research on ESP learning and its application in tourism industry.
