This research was conducted due to the upgrading of the Diploma III Management of Informatics Study Program, Department of Information Technology, to the Diploma IV Business Information Systems (SIB) Study Program based on the Decree of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 33/D/OT/2022 dated March 4, 2022. This also has an impact on changes to the curriculum, especially in the teaching-learning process of English Language courses which apply the ESP (English for Specific Purposes) principles where English is taught in the context of the learner's field of science. Consequently, what was previously in the context of Informatics, must now be changed in the context of Business Information Systems. For this reason, analysis for developing English language learning is needed,
and the results of which can be used as a reference in making learning plans and teaching materials. To carry out the needs analysis, three data collection methods were implemented, namely interviewing the Coordinator of Diploma IV SIB study program and 21 English lecturers, observing the applicable curriculum of Diploma IV SIB, and questionnaire to the students of Diploma IV SIB. The findings showed that the implementation of Project Based Learning (PBL), especially in the Information Technology Department, has also been carried out since the Semester Ganjil 2023/2024; yet, English courses are not available in that semester in the Diploma IV SIB Study Program. For this reason, apart from the results of this research, it can also be used as a reference in developing English language teaching and learning that supports PBL.
